Mits FX10 water constant flow from upper head

$

My MitsFX10 has a constant flow even after threading and there are alot of bubbles in flow meter while threading. At what point(valve/solenoid) does it limit the flow of water to only when threading? Also how does air get involved in the process. We replaced solenoids C,G, and E and seemed to help with some other problems but not this. Also I'm not getting suction from flush cup and the door has to be wedged to stay up. I think that K,H,D and possibly F and J could play a part as well maybe. Am I on the right track does anyone know??

Thanks,
Tvalen1432

100 volt adjustment

We have a DWC90C that lists a voltage level on the socket of 100V. There is only 90.5V showing there. How can I adjust it up to 100V? The low voltage seems to be making the monitor screen to dim and then blank out.
Thanks!

Wire machine shut down ?

We are shutting our wire department down temporarily until work picks up. Is it best to drain the water out of the tanks or leave the water in there?

Hey guys,

we have recently some problem with our MV1200S machine. When we run some work and its all done, the Fluid is still ON untill we push STOP button or Fluid button. I tried to look into Settings if something could help me, but nothing i guess.

Its not doing any harm, but its annoyoing when every time my program ends i have to stop that.

Need Help with Mitsubishi DWC90HA Wire Contact Light always on

I got help here but was not successful in resolve my issue. I thoroughly cleaned the entire path of the wire, top and bottom end. I'm sure those of you that are familiar can appreciate that. Although the Contact Light light remains on it wasn't a total waste as I found some parts to replace before failure. I disconnected the power feed cables from the power amps and the power feeds at the cutting zone. There are no shorts from upper and lower power feeds to the table of ground. I'm assuming no build up or fractured isolators on the physical hardware. However I believe I found some issues in the power-feed cables. Besides the issues I found I cannot for the life of me see how they even work. It appears as though every terminal on the amps is directly connected through the cable. I've included drawings of my results. I've read were they should be replaced periodically. My question is,
1. Do I need new cables and would this potentially solve my issue?
2. Is every terminal on the amps supposed to be connected together through the cables? I cannot fathom how that works yet it appears to be so as a result of my investigation.

Bad funk coming from wire EDM tank

$

Gents-

Started running our Sodick AQ327L about a month ago. Never touched an EDM until this one.

The toolmaker that has run it since it was new has been training me in on it, and we both noticed a strong odor coming from the tank after it has drained. This started a couple of weeks ago.

Also noticed that parts rust much faster than they used to. We changed out the water and filters, which seemed to help a bit, but there is still an aroma, and the parts still rust badly.

The materials we wire are mostly tool (D2, A2, S7, O1, H13, CPM) and chrome-moly steels, bronze, and quite a bit of carbide.

Being new to EDM I wonder if it may be something I'm doing wrong.

Any pointers are very much appreciated.

External filter

Does anyone make a external filter for a single wire edm? I'm thinking of Something like a vortex filter or some other sort of mechanical filter with the intake and output both in the tank. Our tank gets super filthy during the run.. I figure it's all Going thru the machine filters anyways.. Why not get some of it out before it gets there.. Does this exist?

Agiecut 100 issues

I have posted about this a couple of times but have recently made some headway and need a little more advice.

I was having two different problems at the same time and it really confused the issues.

The first was a non-stop false 420 error. I finally have that fixed. It was a cable problem between the WID-05B board and the main computer cabinet.

The other issue is that the motor that drives the brake wheel will just occasionally take off running as fast as it can. It is usually when the machine is idle at a M00 stop or after a wire break but not always. When that happens it just pulls wire off and fills the tank because the belt transport motor is off. The only way to stop it is to hit the E-Stop.

I have tried replacing the DMD-03 and the DWC-01.

Any help would be appreciated on what other boards could be the problem or anything I might do or check.

Also this motor drives the wire during threading and I think it provides wire tension. Am I correct on that?

Thanks Gary

any of you guys know what they make edm rulers and such from? I figure a 4 series stainless since they are magnetic, but not 100% sure. I have a bunch of 440c on hand.

Machine Learning for Wire EDM

As most of us in here know, the wire EDM process is insanely variable and complex. When you start to think about all the processes and parameters that are involved -wire type, speed, tension, spark gap, voltage/amperage, flushing, offsets, sensitivities, etc) - its almost amazing that it works at all. As a machinist my first job is to cut steel; but as an engineer and naturally curious person I like to understand the underlying physics of how things work the way they do (such as why HSM allows you to run such hi feed rates)

I thought a few weeks ago that it would be nice for "us" to have a calculator/database that allows us to input cut parameters, machine, and material specs etc. Over the course of years and thousands of inputs, you would be able to query your particular process and get a good statistically sound set of parameters that give you a fast, precise cut.. (with outliers ignored)

Then I got to thinking, that would be a lot to ask thousands of people to input all those parameters on a regular basis, so why not teach the machine to drive the same way tesla is teaching its cars to steer?

I found this paper that goes into depth on machine learning and how its applicable to wire edm.

http://www.iaeme.com/MasterAdmin/Upl...0130406019.pdf

WHat would your input be on this? would you have a problem networking and sending your cut data back to a grid to be processed?

4 axis WEDM RFQ

I have a mold job that could use a 4 axis WEDM. We've had similar jobs done in the past that didn't have 4 axis and had to make 2 setups and the matching surfaces didn't quite match as well as we would have liked. The thru holes required are for a lifter that moves at 8 degrees and also has a 90 degree shut off surface.
I found a place on line but wanted to support PM members if possible.
If interested, PM me for a .STP file of the block.
Thanks

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with an ONA EDM sinker. Particularly the ONA NX6. Just trying to get some feedback (positive or negative) about their machines.
Any information about ease of controls (programming), speed, electrode wear, filtration system, reliability, service, or anything else is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

feasibility of sink edm tapping a hole in a motor shaft

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I haven't done any EDM work before.

I have a series of brush DC motors with fully hardened shafts, and I need an blind axial threaded hole adding to the output shaft. I was wondering if someone could advise me whether it is practical to sink EDM a M2.5 thread into a 12mm hardened shaft in a assembled motor?

I appreciate this work would be better done on the shafts prior to building the motors, however I am against the clock, and the motor manufacturer is adding 9 weeks to the lead for that option. The particular motor design cannot be easily dismantled / reassembled.

Have any of you used the aftermarket/generic 3R macro tooling that is available? And if you have how does it compare to the genuine article?
We have been buying genuine 3R pallets and accessories but if the generic is good it seems worth trying. Right now I need 3 of the ER-16 macro adapters. Also we don't buy used here so if I can save approx. 50% on the price that is attractive to say the least.:D

Agie HSS 150 error 385?

Last night our Agie HSS 150 threw error code 385 which the manual describes as "Motor print X defect". This locked everything. It wouldn't even allow the work tank to be drained. After power cycling the machine the error didn't immediately return, but I'm betting it is only a matter of time. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

The high pressure pump on our Agie classic 3s is starting to whine pretty good. Trying to save buying a whole new pump, has anyone just replaced the bearings and have a part number for bearings? The pump part number from the Agie manual is the M1 pump, #198.562. Thanks

Well, I guess Christmas came early just unloaded a Makino U6 in the shop.

Is there anything I should be watching out for when running this machine?
